TATTOO AFTERCARE

Tips for taking care of your new tattoo.

DAY 1

Take off the bandage or gladwrap and wash gently, thoroughly, and quickly with warm soapy water (not bar soap, liquid antibacterial soap is best).

Pat dry with paper towel or a clean towel.

Let it air dry for the next 24 hours, washing 3 times per day (same procedure as above).

DAY 2

Do not apply cream until the weeping stops. This can take 2-3 days.

Wash your tattoo prior to applying cream, pat dry and air dry for 10 minutes before applying cream.

Once the weeping has stopped apply a VERY SMALL amount of cream twice a day sparingly. We recommend Palmer’s Coco Butter Fragrance Free.

DO NOT USE PAW PAW.

Bepanthen can be used but VERY SPARINGLY as too much can ruin your tattoo.

Repeat this process until healed which will take approx. 2 weeks depending on your skin and many other variables. It can take up to 6 weeks in difficult areas.

IMPORTANT TIPS

  • DO NOT USE tanning lotions, perfume, sunscreen or get a spray tan as it may cause severe irritation to your tattoo.

  • Do not pick or scratch your tattoo as it begins to heal as this can cause infections, scarring and loss of ink in patches.

  • Do not let your animals near your new tattoo.

  • Do not wear tight or synthetic clothing.

  • Do not submerge your tattoo in water other than fresh. This includes dishwashing water, spas, baths, swimming pools or saltwater at the beach.

  • No sun exposure until your tattoo is fully healed.

  • Do not re-bandage or cover your tattoo with gladwrap unless advised by your tattooists.

  • Never use abrasive items to wash your tattoo such as loofas, face washers or harsh soaps.
